SHOWCASE DRUMMING TO THE STARS
By: Alex Pope Southampton
Our Goal:
Since 2010, over 1500 young people have taken part in our free percussion and drumming workshops and inspirational performance opportunities - We are seeking support to help us purchase some more resources to enable more kids to take part. We use plastic tubs for our drumming and plastic pipes as sticks - This is a brilliant resource as it allows kids the opportunity to learn basic respect skills for looking after a musical instrument (plus they make lots of noise)!!! It is also brilliantly accessible to those who have not done anything like this before!
What will we spend the money on?:
We are aiming to invest in more resources (plastic drumming tubs and piping for sticks) so that we can invite a greater number of kids in our events. As we are involving more youngsters each time, we do not want to be limited by what we can deliver! The more we inspire - The more lives we change...
What can we offer in return for your support?:
We would do our upmost to acknowledge your generosity in supporting our plea - We can do this in a number of ways:
- Free advertising in our souvenir concert programmes - Our audiences attract over 700 people per concert
- Promotional links and acknowledgements on our website
- We invite sponsors to set up stalls/stands at our events
- We could provide free entertainment at a corporate event
- We would offer a discounted showcase drumming party
- We keep sponsors fully informed of our upcoming events - You may have youngsters who would enjoy taking part - simply drop us an email - showcaseperformancegroup@gmail.com
- We would promote your generosity on our Twitter and Facebook pages
- You may even want a free drum/percussion lesson with one of our tutors?
- For businesses who support us - we offer a set of free tickets to our next concerts
Our Background:
Here at Showcase, we are all about giving young people inspirational and unforgettable experiences. We do this using music and the art of percussion. We invite thousands of youngsters to take part in free workshops at the most prestigious concert venue in Southampton. We then invite the youngsters to perform the results as part of our evening spectacular concert.
Our aim is to transform the lives of everyone who takes part by enhancing their energies and channeling them into a positive direction. Music has the ability to boost self esteem and confidence levels and often prevents bad behaviour, encourages those who struggle with everyday education and generally gives them something to feel proud about achieving.
We are completely volunteer led and spend around £2000 per concert just hiring the venue to make it possible and exciting. Central Hall is ideally located in Southampton in one of the most deprived and transiant areas which makes our projects as accessible as possible to those with little means of transport.
Because of the venue hire, and the fact we do not charge parents usual ticket prices, we are unable to raise profits to assist with keeping our resources maintained and re-stocked. Please PLEASE help us - As you can see from the video above - These kids have the time of their life and the thrill factor of performing and headlining a concert is the most buzzing feeling for these families. We want this to continue and grow so that as many people take part as possible!!!!
Thankyou for your support - Join the Showcase Adventure!!!!!
