I have been living, working and studying in New York since September 2010 and have recently returned to the UK. During my time in New York I set up an amazing website called Secret Sound Shop with a group of talented and creative individuals. It is a new music site that records videos of artists playing in strange places around New York City, and on occasion with impromptu instruments. (We just recently shot a band who used a BBQ lid as the percussion, it was great!)
We are extremely passionate about music and getting lesser known bands out on a platform with publicity alongside more well-known artists. So we have been recording videos with both bands that are signed and established as well as giving really talented and less experienced musicians a shot at gaining some well needed exposure. The response has been overwhelming.
As two members of Secret Sound Shop have now returned to the UK, we would really like to keep the momentum going, but set up a UK counterpart. As well as being able to continue this amazing project, it would also assist in bridging the gap between the transition of US artists to the UK and vice versa. We would be looking for help in order to improve the site itself and its functionality, we have some great ideas for it but the site lacks the funds. We would also want to purchase some more equipment to enable us to get better recordings and sound, which is why we need your help to make this happen!
We need to raise £1000 to get everything going over here. All donations would be greatly appreciated and we have loads of great rewards to offer people, so have a look at them! I'm sure there is something there that might interest you.
