Night of Brian

By: Connla Lyons   London

SYNOPSIS

'Night of Brian' tells the story of Mairead a young woman with a pained past now working for the local priest, Father Sean, in a small town in 1980’s Ireland. Her older brother Kevin, the local cinema owner receives by accident a copy of Monty Python’s Life of Brian and decides to screen it despite it being banned in Ireland at the time. Mairead is forced into a conflict between the priest who took her in and her only family. A conflict she must resolve by opening night.

NOTE FROM THE PRODUCER:

Filming this project has been an extraordinary adventure that I hope to duplicate a billion times over in my career. I was drawn to this project by the wonderful story world that Connla Lyons and Tom Floyd created. To stay true to the story and bring the story to life, I knew that we had to film in Ireland. To do that, I knew that meant we needed to reach out to all of you to help us in this adventure.

We started out wth a strong script, talented actors and crew, solid Direction from Connla and a beautiful eye from our Cinematographer Sonia. We are looking to finish with brilliantly shaped edit by Eoin, Music Composed by David J. Reading an amazing professional composer, a sound mix with Pinewood Studios, and a professional film grade.

I cannot wait to share with all of you the passion that we have been developing and working on for the last year.  Further, I hope you enjoy the authenticity of filming in Ireland as anywhere else wouldn't have captured the same magic.

Sláinte,

Christine Sherwood
