GLOWFLARE – “To Glow, Is to Flare” Founded on July 21st 2011. Welcome to the world of Glowflare, my name is Daniel Smales, born 21st October 1990, and I have dream to change to world of Performing Arts. I see myself as a hard working entrepreneur who knows exactly what is needed to succeed. I believe I have the drive to exactly that! I have been training and performing since I can remember, I’ve always had a drive to succeed from such an early age. Watching my father run a business of a local removals company for numerous years growing up and seeing what it does to work loading commitments always fascinated me a young child. I had always wanted to follow in my dads footsteps, however wanted to take my own route creating something different and powerful to society.

Growing up on the Orchard Park Estate in Hull life didn’t seem promising some would say for a person like myself, I took the positive from this situation. Looking back in history some of the biggest entrepreneurs and talents of this and generation come from deprived areas of the United Kingdom and the World. These people have changed the way we live, communicate and organise our lives, and even help us to strive and achieve some of our goals, which sometimes can surprize ourselves. Every single one of us forgets we changed the world the second we was born, and I’m very thankful to have made it to the age of 21, and foundered company, although I have foundered Glowflare, its still not off the ground due to funding issues.

I went to Sir Henry Cooper school, I worked extremely hard but found it difficult to get the correct support I needed always working hard to impress but never seemed to reap any such rewards, even with this in mind, my mental stamina never took a thrash I continued to work hard. I began working on a small project a school, which was for an IT project, which is, where Glowflare originates from right within my school roots. The original idea consisted of only one dance class every night doing different projects at a local hall; it consisted of myself and another partner. Looking back on such a small adventure there’s a lot to be learnt from such a project. Taking a look in my own time I could see a lot of work was needed from the original logo design and name to what Glowflare is. I knew straight after designing the first logo back in 2004 at the age of 14 that it’s not anything good, but the idea would grow and become something amazing! I knew it required a lot of work, but to the positive, it was the start of the Glowflare Journey.

I knew when making options for college I needed to do something that could create me a future if my career was to fail. I needed something that would bring me back if I was fall from a high. I attend Wyke Sixth Form College; here I was refused the option I wish to preserve based on rules and regulations of BTEC National Diplomas. Colleges will only support students of up to 4 A levels, as its known for been a large in task in had to balance all four A Levels. I made a promise when applying for the college I would only come if they supported the option for me to access 6 A Levels. It took me the heart and soul to convince the head of the departments of IT and Performing Arts to accept this negotiation. I knew it was going to be hard, but I knew the result would be astounding and would prove my capability and understanding of real pressure. During these two years I acquired my BTEC National Diplomas of both IT and Performing Arts, I had achieved another goal making people and myself proud. I wasn’t going to stop there, I had always wanted to set the company up in Hull and expand from what I know and could gain.

Having a large problem with not enough money to make the trip to London I had to make emergency change in my path due to not having money available to help create my career and surroundings. I attended The Hull School of Performing Arts for a year intense Performing Arts Training keeping the mental stamina always up to speed and making sure I am always doing something constructive, and towards my career path of both others and myself. I completed my intense year and was ready to make a move for auditioning at London’s finest performing schools once again. This time I had never had the courage to go for the biggest Music Conservatoire in Europe, I had always been scared of been turned away for something I had no control over, it came to my attention and reality hit of only living once, and chancing the dream. I attended the audition this is the next step that revolutionised Glowflare within the roots, by the audition I had already thought of the name Glowflare and was sitting on the idea of changing it. I found that when I told people the name in conversation the questioned the name and thought it was very peculiar but very memorable and had a nice ring to the name. My audition I quote ”in order to glow to an audience to have to show your interpretational flare” and I stopped in my audition to pause and take in what I had just said without even a moments thought I felt complete I had found the name and the slogan to the company, Glowflare was born. To my later success I was then told I was accepted with an ‘Unconditional Offer’ guaranteeing me a place to begin in September 2010.

It was with one of the most successful days in my life and with the hard work and commitment I made it to London at the age of 19. I went to study Musical Theatre (Acting/Singing/Dance/Business) at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Delighted with such an opportunity I took it and did the best I could to raise funds, it was to my surprize I had received a scholarship to study at the once place I had dreamed to study around orchestras and real highly technique contemporary dancers, and to top the great opportunity I knew I needed to begin a branding process on Glowflare, and great a logo that would be plain simple but so effective it grabs the attention of everyone that sees it!

What is GLOWFLARE?

GLOWFLARE is a company, which takes form under education of certain disciplines but doesn’t concentrate purely on the academia side of learning. Taking into account years of experience between the team Glowflare was born! The company is designed to take the weaknesses from a lot of other evening schools locally, and nationally, and use these environments that tech people vocational skills as base for the company to work from. Glowflare has been a processing development since Autumn 2011, there has been over a year worth of planning before putting the company into action. The company have now processed as much information and market research in our field of expertise and see the business to be viable for both the company profits, and for the people in the local area to get a better understanding and knowledge for those area the majority of the United Kingdom aspire to be at some point in their lives, which is to achieve a career. Depending on the career depends if they sit in our target market, however Glowflare went a step further and thought of those people who might purely want to do it for fun base entertainment, or simply do it because they love it! The company has opened the doors to lucky individuals, which have become part of the working team, which has been put into place. The team has worked variously over the country in many shows, and different drama schools, allowing us to gain the best knowledge for the industry and teach a range of people that would be customers to the company.

Our aim is to open peoples mind to the world of the performing arts and the world of performing live on stage. This would give them a taste of what could be out their for them, but not only that looking at what aim to strive from the company a lot of goals can be met with the local society of people in the world performing. Simple task in mind is the larger the fan base of customers to Glowflare, the more tickets sold at shows and the more Glowflare has a chance of making a profitable investment in Hull and the surrounding area. Taking all into account what people want from our survey theirs a large market in fitness and commercial dance, which overshoots any of the other areas. However there is such a large profit margin for all the areas we aim to look at over the foreseeable future. We believe we have got a large amount of data, personally selecting those of this area and selective people of the general public, as we are unable to get a full judgement from the local and surrounding areas due to funding we have gathered the information based on those that would be extremely interested in a new environment for performing arts.

We have also taken into account other areas such as a new theatre opening in Beverly, which is expected to open in the near future. Embracing both new companies and exciting companies and making a real connection to the community is one of the top requirements to see the success of the company.

Our aim is to enable as many people that want to either work, or just enjoy hobbies and unlock those goals with GLOWFLARE. We have areas of which we plan to expand and bring more talents along the way; we currently look at the following areas:

What we have done here at GLOWFLARE, is taken the current economic climate, in the United Kingdom and from around the world to see what people in the companies in the west end and theatres all around the country and see what the new market is bringing to a city near you. We aim to use this research to advance your abilities and open the stage door for you to shine in the spotlight. We known that at a young age in can be scary new life out their growing up and beginning to see the world a lot different, here at GLOWFLARE, we aim to continue this life experience in the shape of building confidence, each child develops at their own pace with the support of the group, this may also include adults experimenting on expanding their confidences, together with your groups the world becomes a much easier place with us.

Another aspect of performing is Musical Theatre or Singing, and singing lessons can be a scary thing for a new person into the performing world or from a young age. Here at GLOWFLARE we aim to help you peruse anything you aspire to do or be, which is why we use a mixture of musical theatre and contemporary songs. This can range from anything in the musical theatre world, and anything that can be seen as contemporary song. These will be used to help you gain confidence and learn new abilities to set you up for the challenges in life ahead. The songs will be designed to also help you with vocal exercises, that vocal tutors will help you every step of the way on your newfound journey. This combination is felt throughout GLOWFLARE, and effectively we begin to increase your confidence.

The vision to success, and the drive of passion, has never gone away, and never will.  Since 2004 till the present day I consistently work hard with may career, helping others, and creating my dream to enrich other peoples lives. Where will your money go?

GLOWFLARE, aims to do the following with money we have asked for:

Lay a building deposit the building we have managed to secure upon a deposit been laid will allow us to create a better opportunity for the business to remain in central town center of hull giving it the best opportunity to gain the best rewards.

£15,000
Fit the entire building from a shell to a working business, this would include everything from the electrics and plumbing of the building.

£2,500
To fit the building studios with the latest technologies for the company to operate, for music, acting and dance classes. Having sound systems, and pianos that can be used in each room for each rehearsal that will be given throughout the day, and equip the fitness section of Glowflare with the correct and appropriate equipment to hand.
