Dimbola Museum Appeal
By: Bob Cotton SouthamptonDimbola Conservation Appeal
The Julia Margaret Cameron Trust is a registered charity with responsibility for conserving Dimbola - Julia Margaret Camerons home, studio and salon between 1860 and 1875. We have detailed plans for the future development of Dimbola, that combine the conservation of the building and its restoration of Cameron's home and studio , with the development of Dimbola as an international centre for the study of Cameron's work.
Currently we receive no National of Regional Arts funding. We own Dimbola, and manage to run the museum and galleries with the help of enthusiastic volunteers.
However, these long-term plans will take some time to acquire the funding and put into effect, and so in the meantime we are appealing for donations to help us with the upkeep of the building, roofing repairs, exterior painting and decorating, etc.
Please help with a donation. You will be helping to conserve an important building in the history of the art of photography, and a centrepiece of Victorian Culture.
