Bike for Bobby

Former Newcastle United footballer Robbie Elliott and Triathlete Phil Gray are set to embark on a 3,500 mile bike ride in October/November 2012. Through 5 countries in less than 4 weeks the duo will cycle to all 8 clubs managed or coached by Sir Bobby Robson. Cycling at least 150 miles a day they will raise money through The Robbie Elliott Foundation for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Starting in Portugal the duo will cycle through Spain, France and Belgium, carrying on past Wembley and Fulham to conclude their mammoth journey in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Crazy?
Courageous?
Well, it's all for Charity!

Our documentary will follow the duo's training in the lead up to the ride in October 2012. We will then be following the actual ride itself, documenting the highs and lows of their journey. Through in-depth interviews with Sir Bobby's football players, close friends and Robbie, we will investigate why Sir Bobby Robson was such an inspirational man, on and off the pitch. Sidestepping the reality TV trap, this documentary will be an engaging and entertaining film that gives the audience a chance to feel the strain of this epic journey through both laughter and tears.

We will also be producing web videos to promote the campaign and the film which will be posted before and during the ride. The final documentary will be premiered at a VIP event at the London White City VUE Cinema, in addition to this we will be looking to delve further into the material by developing the film into a TV series.

Although the film is not financially linked to any of the charities, by funding this documentary you will be raising awareness in the media and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Don't worry if you're not in a position to help financially - you can always help by spreading the word of this campaign and the work accomplished by Bike for Bobby:

Time, talent and some equipment have been generously donated by ourselves and our media sponsors, but unfortunately we are unable to fund the documentary on our own. All funds raised will go towards hiring experienced crew and broadcast equipment to allow us to capture and edit Robbie and Phil's once in a lifetime journey.
