ArtU ‘Who says you can’t be Creative’

By: ArtU   London

ArtU is reaching out to all the lovely people in this world to help us with our project.

ArtU is the joint dream of, and run by, 2 creatives who studied Fine Art, Art History and Curatorial Studies in Leeds/London and Toronto and have moved to London to act upon this dream. They both love all things creative and want to help spread their knowledge and love of the Arts in general - wthout the exclusion that sometimes goes along with the Arts world.

Our aim is to start a company that holds exciting creative interactive workshops for people of all ages and abilities. These will take place in Central/East London and will range from creative writing, to drawing, to photography to textiles and more. Each workshop will last approx. 2-3hrs (Pretty flexible) and will cost £20 each if booked in advance, or £22 if booked on the door (There is also a 15% discount if you book in bulk) - this fee will include ALL materials, our guidance, and a few sneaky drinks with snacks, as well as the possibility to exhibit your work, with full support and promotion from ArtU.

We have already started to promote artists via our website and Twitter, by holding an "Artist of the Week" competition, supprting and promoting new and up and coming artists in anyway that we can, as we know first hand how hard it can be to break into the creative industry.

We are asking for this financial support as we want to be able to provide everything that you will need to get your creativity on in every way possible. We want to collaborate with community projects, and have guest speakers from all areas of the arts industry and our end goal is to have a permanent ArtU studio and exhibition space.

Examples of some workshops to be held:

- Technical – drawing, painting, photography, textiles etc
- Arts Therapy – for example, a workshop for people with disabilities or learning difficulties.
- Portfolio review sessions – to help students with portfolios for arts college and university applications.
- Retiree workshops – to help get older people out of the house, and meeting other people, to help build a community.
- Saturday sessions for children.

For all of our workshops, all you need is YOU!

We believe everybody has creativity inside them and we want to unleash it, with no pressure or judgement, just pure fun and perhaps a little bit of learning too. Anything that people can donate will be AWESOME!!!

Thanks for your support.
