Beverley Glean
Co-Director Connectingvibes
Founder and Artistic Development Director of IRIE! dance theatre. Beverley has been working in the field of dance, in particular African Peoples Dance for over 20 years. Trained at the Laban Centre London, The Jamaica School of Dance and The Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba; she has continued her training and development in dance & culture by working alongside artists from West Africa, Europe, America, and the Caribbean. Beverley founded IRIE! dance theatre in 1985.
Rosie Lehan
Co-Director Connectingvibes
Trained at Laban Centre London (BA Dance) and Middlesex University (MA Performing Arts) Currently Course Manager for the Foundation Degree in Dance at City and Islington College. Rosie has worked as a freelance choreographer/practitioner working for organisations such as the Arts Educational School and Middlesex University.
Joint Projects
Beverley and Rosie have been working together in partnership with IRIE! dance theatre and City and Islington College since 1992. Since 2000 they have consolidated their work in a diverse range of projects. These include Connectingvibes Dance Company, the Dance and Diversity project, an action based research project originally funded by NESTA and the Arts Council to investigate the place of African and Caribbean dance, which included a research trip to the USA, Jamaica, Cuba and Ghana. Since 2008 they have worked in partnership on The Foundation Degree in Dance, delivered by City and Islington College, IRIE! dance theatre and London Metropolitan University.
